Marma points (vital points) are also known as points that provide the maximum contact between the physical body and the astral bodies, which convey cosmic energy. Marma points form the basis of the entire meridian network and all the acupuncture/pressure/massage point used in alternative medicine.

Each point has it’s own intelligence and consciousness, which coordinate with the mind and body. The tips of the fingers are used to stimulate the Marma points thereby promoting physical and mental clearing/balancing. As with Acupuncture, these points correspond to internal organs and systems of the body which react to manual stimulation.

Incorporating Marma points within a Reiki session is another way of accessing and releasing blocked or congested energy centres in the body.
